A live painter as an original entertainment for your business event in Cannes

Are you organizing a business evening, a gala, an inauguration, a product launch, or a business anniversary, and looking for an original idea to amaze your customers?
An unusual artistic experience that will leave a lasting impression on your guests?
Let me tell you about a business event that took place at the Carlton Intercontinental Hotel in Cannes, on the French Riviera, where I had the pleasure of working as a live painter.
A Live Painter at a Wedding Fair
During a wedding fair at Château St Georges in Grasse last year, I met July, a talented jeweler. We got to know each other better, and as I was drawing constantly, she discovered my art of live painting. We connected and exchanged contact details at the end of the show.
A few months later, she contacted me again and invited me to paint during the anniversary celebration of an association she is a member of: F.C.E – Femmes Chef d’Entreprise (Women in Business). The Cannes delegation (of which she is a member) was celebrating its 50th anniversary and wanted to mark the occasion with a unique entertainment for their gala. A live painting would be the perfect touch!
Live Painting as an Original Entertainment
An Event in a Prestigious Venue: The Carlton in Cannes

This was a major event!
Businesswomen from all over France (even from the overseas territories, such as Martinique) were attending. It was essential to choose a venue that matched the prestige of the occasion: the Intercontinental Carlton Hotel in Cannes.
A little historical fact: this iconic hotel was featured in the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock film To Catch a Thief!
That afternoon, I began sketching the hotel from the outside, settling down under the shade of a palm tree on La Croisette.
My painting would feature three key elements:
- The hotel, as seen from La Croisette
- The Cannes delegation on the steps of the Palais des Festivals
- The gala evening inside the Carlton
The Steps of the Palais des Festivals… Without a Red Carpet!
As all the leading businesswomen arrived, each more elegantly dressed than the last, they made their way up the steps of the Palais des Festivals in their gala attire.
But then, we realized—the red carpet had been removed!

This is where the magic of painting comes in: I decided to add the iconic red carpet to my canvas!
The Gala Evening: Celebrating 50 Years of the FCE Cannes Delegation
During the cocktail reception, several speeches were given. Emotions were visible on people’s faces—sometimes even tears of joy.
The guests were then invited into the Grand Salon, where the evening’s festivities would take place.
The Grand Salon was a picture of luxury, with marble columns throughout, gilded ceilings, and sparkling crystal chandeliers.

A live band provided entertainment during dinner. The lead singer’s sublime voice gave everyone chills.
Meanwhile, I enjoyed capturing the beauty of the evening through my painting in this magnificent setting.
As dinner came to an end, the president of the Cannes delegation took the floor once more to express her gratitude to the entire team for organizing such a beautiful event.
Then, it was time to rise from the tables and take to the dance floor to celebrate this special anniversary!
And finally, here it was—the finished painting!
