Dijon: a new city for a wedding live painting!
My work is a marvelous way to discover new wedding venues and new cities. I have never gone to Dijon before, it was the perfect occasion!
I think this is the wedding live painting service I’ve been booked the furthest in advance! The bride-to-be had contacted me almost two years prior! But since her wedding theme was Art, she wanted to make sure she had her wedding live painting done, the highlight of the day!
The ceremony at the church near Dijon, the beginning of the wedding live painting
The religious wedding ceremony took place in the beautiful Basilique Notre Dame de Gray, near Dijon. I arrived almost two hours before the start of the wedding ceremony to begin my live wedding painting. More precisely, I started sketching the background of the wedding painting. There were a lot of details: the stone walls, the sculptures, the crystal chandeliers, and the intricate stained glass windows!
The reception venue: Chateau de la Dame Blanche, in Geneuille (near Dijon)

Once the religious ceremony was over, I followed the newlyweds to the wedding reception at Chateau de la Dame Blanche in Geneuille. It’s an elegant castle from 19th Century, with a modestly sized, but ideal for a reception venue.
I set up my easel in the reception hall to continue my live wedding painting.

Since the wedding theme was art, all the decorations in the hall and on the tables were designed with this in mind: mini easels with paintings on each table, color palettes as knife rests, and clear paint tubes filled with candy as favors for the guests!
My live wedding painting activity was a big hit with the guests, most of whom were art lovers. Since I had to depict the entire wedding ceremony (and it takes a lot of time to paint everyone), the painting will be finished in my studio! Here’s the painting in progress:

What moment from your wedding would you like to have painted?
