How I painted the wedding days of J & A, in Monaco and Nice !
This is the story of an adorable groom-to-be who wanted to surprise his future wife with an artistic gift… He discovered my live wedding paintings and quickly contacted me for more details about my wedding book service. (my favorite service where I can tell the story of a wedding with my watercolor paintings). We quickly arranged a video conference call… keeping in mind the time difference (the groom is French but lives in Dubai).
He explained to me that the wedding would take place over two days; the first day would be the civil ceremony in Monaco City Hall, followed by a meal in Nice. On the second day, they had planned a religious ceremony near Aix-en-Provence.
My wedding book with all my watercolor paintings would therefore be a surprise for the bride!
The Wedding Ceremony in Monaco
In almost ten years of working as a live painter, this was the first time I’d entered in Monaco City Hall. The building doesn’t look like much from the outside… but inside, a beautiful wedding hall awaited us! The decor is rich, with an imposing fireplace, chandeliers, and a wooden partitioned ceiling.
I managed to get in before the guests to start my first drawing:

Once the wedding ceremony was over, the guests were invited to the bride’s parents’ home on the hills above Nice. An incredible view of the entire Bay of Angels! I lived in Nice a few years ago, but I’d never been to a place like this!

The bride’s friends and witnesses performed a song during the cocktail reception to express their affection. An emotional moment…and also lot of knowing laughter!

The religious wedding ceremony near Aix-en-Provence
It was in the small church of St. Antoine in Châteauneuf-le-Rouge, ten minutes from Aix-en-Provence, that J & A decided to seal their union religiously. You can see the groom’s witnesses in the background on the left, and the bride’s witnesses on the right.

(Too bad, I didn’t have enough room in this watercolor to draw the wonderful gospel concert!)
The rest of the day (and the festivities!) will take place at the Bastide de Puget, near Aix-en-Provence.
The bride and groom will board a car worthy of 007 to join their guests!

And the moment the unmarried young ladies have been waiting for arrives: the bouquet toss!

The evening continues, the guests sit down at the table. Little games are organized throughout the meal. Then it’s time for the speeches: the newlyweds’ brothers and sisters take the floor. Speeches that range from funny to moving, and include anecdotes from their childhood!

The dessert table is served… and the bride and groom can open the ball!
